Hace once días, ante la sorpresa de muchos, el Málaga CF oficializó un ERE siendo el primer club español profesional que durante el Covid19 aplicaba esta medida como consecuencia de la necesidad de una profunda reestructuración a nivel interno. La precaria situación económica y las exigencias de LaLiga respecto al límite salarial implica que la próxima temporada se decida construir una plantilla basada en jóvenes jugadores de la cantera y, para ello, se ha tomado la decisión de la continuidad de Sergio Pellicer junto a su cuerpo técnico para construir este nuevo proyecto independientemente de la categoría en la que se encuentre.
El club ha emitido el siguiente comunicado en el día de hoy: «El área deportiva del Málaga Club de Fútbol, encabezada por Manolo Gaspar, da un paso más hacia delante para la consolidación del MCF en la parcela técnica del primer equipo. De esta manera, Sergio Pellicer extiende un año más su contrato con la entidad y seguirá al frente del banquillo. Se refuerza más si cabe la confianza en el castellonense, que tras ‘ascender’ del Atlético Malagueño al Málaga CF como interino, fue ratificado en su cargo por Gaspar hasta el final de la campaña 19/20 el pasado 25 de febrero»
Tras acuerdo alcanzado con el actual entrenador, se premia el esfuerzo realizado tanto por el míster como por Manolo Sánchez (segundo entrenador), Julio Rodríguez (preparador físico) y Dani Lima (entrenador de porteros). Cabe recordar que el castellonense cogió las riendas del primer equipo el pasado 12 de Enero. Desde ahí, y hasta el parón liguero, en un total de nueve partidos ha conseguido cuatro victorias, tres empates y dos derrotas (quince puntos obtenidos de veintisiete posibles).
Pellicer ha convencido con su trabajo al club, haciéndose con la plantilla e incluso con la afición. Ha instaurando la palabra «unión«. Ahora solo queda esperar que se reanude la liga y jugar los once últimos partidos para finalizar la temporada, donde el gran objetivo a nivel deportivo es poder mantener la categoría para afrontar con garantías la temporada 2020/2021.
