El Costa del Sol alcanza la gloria en Carranque (30-26)

Estaba escrito. Fue el final soñado, el cuento de hadas que todo deseamos que nos cuenten desde que éramos críos. Tuvo que ser en Carranque, en el fortín del Costa del Sol Málaga y donde este club ha crecido desde sus inicios. Heroicidad en forma de remontada que tuvo que hacer las guerreras en esta eliminatoria ante las ilicitanas que habían superado en semifinales a las máximas favoritas, al Super Amara Bera Bera. Nadie iba a decir que sería fácil, y ante un dignísimo rival se logró aquello que era impensable incluso hace varios meses, la conquista de un título liguero. La actuación portentosa de Espe López y de Merche Castellanos en momentos claves del encuentro decantaron el marcador a favor de los locales, y Málaga disfruta de sus panteras y presume de ser el club de referencia en el balonmano nacional, el club a batir deportivamente hablando desde hoy. En sus vitrinas ya tiene el título nacional, el que le faltaba.

La antesala del encuentro olía a cita histórica para las malagueñas, con el cartel de «no hay billetes»  y con un público que estaba dispuesto a apretar de lo lindo para apoyar a sus jugadoras.

El comienzo del partido estuvo caracterizado por el dominio en el marcador por parte de las locales con ventajas mínimas, a pesar de que las rivales se mostraron muy férreas en defensa. La renta no fue mayor para los locales por la madera de la portería de Nicole Morales. Sin embargo, a mitad del periodo las ilicitanas se mostraron más eficaces, con una defensa por algunos momentos muy dura que no significó exclusión alguna. Con ello, y con la figura de Danila ejecutando un «misíl» de tiro, se remontó el marcador y se llegó al (13-15) que obligó a Suso Gallardo a pedir tiempo muerto. Bendita decisión del míster, y es que las locales lograron un parcial de 3-0 que permitió a las costasoleñas recuperar la ventaja en el marcador (16-15) al descanso. 

En el segundo periodo, las locales lograron controlar el marcador a favor, y es que entre la actuación celestial de Merche Castellanos con grandes paradas y las exclusiones producidas en contra de las costasoleñas que no supieron aprovechar las ilicitanas las opciones de éxito se fueron esfumando para las visitantes. Paradas de Merche ante Danila, Tessa o Alexandra enloquecieron al público de Carranque y fueron aprovechadas en ataque por jugadoras como Espe López, que lograron abrir brecha en el resultado y supieron jugar los minutos finales.

De quedar eliminadas en Europa en los despachos a coronarse con el título liguero, en apenas nueve meses. Quien lo diría…
